The Importance of a Biblical Worldview in School

There are many ways to look at the world and our global society has allowed us to see different points of view from various cultures. This can be seen in our own country as many different worldviews attempt to explain the condition of our world. Whatever your position, it is defined by your worldview. At Springs Baptist Academy, we are striving to instill a biblical worldview in our students. More important than an academic education, the proper worldview will enable our students to guide decision making for the rest of their lives.

What is a Biblical Worldview?

Worldview is defined as the perspective that defines how we think and live. A biblical worldview is seen in how we think and live according to God’s Word. In short, it is whether we base our decisions off of what the Bible says or whether we use another type of measurement to make those choices.

Why It’s Important

Your worldview affects everything. There are some “good” worldviews out there, but none are as right as the biblical worldview. When we trust God to direct our thoughts (Proverbs 3:5,6) and we order our steps according to His Word (Psalm 119:133), we make choices that are pleasing to God and beneficial for us. The wrong worldview will harm you and others, so it is important to make sure it is the right one.

Why We Teach a Biblical Worldview at SBA

If it is true about how your worldview affects your thoughts and actions, we want our students to have thoughts and actions that align with God’s Word. Whether it is in Math, English, Science, History, or any other subject, making decisions with that information in accordance to God’s Word will determine if a student continues to pursue God after school is over or if he pursues the flesh, the world, and the Devil. Our nation’s future is dependent upon godly people making godly choices that shape their lives, their jobs, their learning, their community, and their nation. Parents, please partner with us in helping your children realize the importance of thinking thoughts after God and not after the flesh.
